My senior project warrants more than a brief explanation. The Chicago Jazz Underground website is designed to be a social network for jazz musicians in the city of Chicago. It is based off the the idea that the community of jazz musicians in the city lacks a central hub from which to organize themselves and connect to each other. The musicians and club owners would be able to use the site to interact with one another and form relationships to work out playing opportunities. The site also represents an official access point for people not related to the community, so that they can learn a little about what live jazz is about without jumping in head first.

A major part of this project was furthering my personal understanding of HTML and CSS, and taking a more in-depth look at interaction and who the user might move through the site. Everything you see was hand-coded.Visit the Website

INFO: The homepage of the website. It features a news blog with links to recent reviews and past posts on the sides.

INFO: This is a profile page for one of the musicians. From here you could listen to a musician's selections and find out where and when they're playing. You can also interact with a musician to form networking connections.

INFO: This is the lower half of the musician profile page. The comment section is shown here.

INFO: Venue and club owners also can have their own pages, which allows them to communicate with musician's they want to hire, as well as the general public.

INFO: This is where the user would register a new account.

INFO: Website would have search functionality. A single text field encompasses all that you would have to search for.
